Signal badges

Along with the verdict and the score, the Analysis column shows icons for secondary signals. Hover over an icon — the tooltip explains the signal, and for signals drawn from the domain history (redirect, merge, topic change, hosting placeholder, for-sale page, 404, blog) it also adds the years in which the signal was observed — when the year could be determined. The "PBN — the domain was part of a site network" signal has no years in its tooltip.

The icons are ordered by significance — from the redirect down to everyday history signals:

• Redirects to … — the domain forwarded visitors to another site; the tooltip shows which domain and in which years.
• Domain is at auction (…) — the domain is up for auction; in the parentheses the tooltip specifies its status in the search index.
• Not in Google index — the domain is absent from the search index.
• PBN — the domain was part of a site network — signs of a network of near-identical sites.
• Clean history — no spam found at any point — the only positive icon in this row.
• Merge — redirect to another domain — shown when the redirect is not confirmed by archive snapshots; if it is confirmed, "Redirects to …" appears in its place.
• Topic change — the site topic changed abruptly.
• Hosting placeholder — a hosting provider page was shown instead of a real site.
• Domain was listed for sale — the site displayed a "domain for sale" page.
• Long period of 404s / abandonment — long stretches when the site was down.
• Became a blog — the site turned into a blog.

The icons alone are not a final ruling: "Became a blog", for instance, is neutral, while "Redirects to …" combined with "Topic change" is a serious reason to walk away from a purchase.
