Restore a Website from the Web Archive
Pick a home page snapshot by date, preview it without the archive toolbar and download the whole site: pages, styles, scripts, images and fonts for that date — with local links, ready to upload to Apache or Nginx.

- 2 free domains a week
- Hosting-ready ZIP
How it works
- Enter a domain or paste a web archive snapshot link — we show every home page snapshot by year and month.
- Open a snapshot: see the page without the archive toolbar and its analysis — title, meta tags, headings, resources and a size estimate.
- Start a dump of one page or the whole site for that date and download the ZIP: unpack it to your hosting root and the site opens.
What you get
- Site pages with the original folder structure: the home page, sections with their own index.html, links rewritten to local ones.
- Styles, scripts, images, fonts, SVG, favicon, PDF and media — everything the archive saved, including files referenced from CSS.
- sitemap.xml, robots.txt, a README and, if you want, .htaccess for Apache and an Nginx config example.
- A report for every address and an SEO export: titles, H1, duplicate meta tags, broken internal links, images without alt.
What the numbers mean
- Snapshot completeness
- How fully the archive saved the site on the snapshot date: full — the home page with code 200 plus the site's pages and files; partial — few addresses or a redirect; broken — an error was saved instead of the page.
- Nearest snapshot
- The archive saves a site's pages and files on different days. If there is no copy for the date, the nearest one is used: within a year for pages, the nearest saved one for styles, scripts and images. Such pages and files are marked in the report with the date of their snapshot.
- Dump caps
- How many pages, how deep the links and how much data go into a dump. Without an account the caps are modest, in your account they are higher; everything left out is listed in the report.
- Broken internal links
- Links to pages of the same site that the archive does not have for that date. Before relaunching the site, cover them with redirects or restore them by hand.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the site's files come from?
From the public web archive: for years it has saved site pages together with styles, images and scripts. We collect everything the archive saved for the chosen date and remove its toolbar.
Will the site work after I upload it?
Yes, as a static site: unpack the ZIP to your hosting root — the links are already local. For Apache use the .htaccess from the ZIP, for Nginx the config example. The archive does not keep the server side (PHP, database, forms), so it is not in the dump.
Why are some files missing from the dump?
The archive did not save everything, and not on the same day. A page is taken from the nearest snapshot within a year of the date and, when that snapshot is from another day, marked in the report with its date; a page with no copy within a year is reported as not in the archive. Styles, scripts, images and fonts are taken from the nearest saved snapshot of any age. Files from other domains are not downloaded, and anything over the page and size caps is marked separately.
How many domains can I restore for free?
Without an account, a limited number of different domains per week; what is left is shown under the input. Repeating a domain you already started is free, and browsing and analyzing snapshots does not use the limit. In your account you get free domains every day and more pages per dump.
What if a snapshot opens without styles or images?
Pick a neighbouring snapshot: the archive often saved styles and images on other days than the pages themselves. The completeness mark and the address count in each snapshot row show which dates were saved best.
