What the numbers mean
- Parking NS
- Name servers that belong to parking or auction services. The domain is listed for sale or shows ads instead of a site.
- No MX
- The domain has no mail servers. Normal for an abandoned name; a living business usually has mail.
- Blacklists
- Public lists of domains seen in spam, phishing or malware. A listing is a strong signal that the name was abused.
- SPF present
- A mail policy record exists, which means someone configured mail for the domain, usually a sign of a maintained site.
Frequently asked questions
Which blacklists are checked?
Major public domain blacklists used by mail and link filters, plus the IP blacklist of the first address the domain resolves to. The list is configured by us and may change.
Why does a zone say 'no answer'?
Blacklists limit the number of queries from one network. If a zone did not answer, we show that honestly instead of guessing.
What if the domain does not resolve?
The name has no address right now: it is either dropped, parked without DNS, or misconfigured. The archive history shows what it was before.
How many domains can I check for free?
Five checks of five domains per tool without an account. When they are used up, sign up: you get a trial budget and can check without limits.
What does the full check add?
